Catherine is the Chief Executive Officer of the Community Foundation of Singapore (CFS), the nation’s first community foundation. Since 2012, she has led CFS to become one of Singapore’s largest philanthropic foundations. Working in close partnership with the CFS Board of Directors, she ensures that the organisation fulfils its vision of inspiring giving and creates strategies for its future success.
Before CFS, Catherine spent over 20 years in financial services, where she held various leadership positions at Nomura, Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs. Catherine started her career at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Her experience in investment banking and fund management has equipped her to help donors make impactful social investments through philanthropy.
Catherine has been actively volunteering since 2002. She currently sits on the Board of Governors of Temasek Polytechnic and is Chairperson of its School of Humanities & Social Sciences’ School Advisory Committee. Catherine also serves on the committees of Wealth Management Institute (WMI), Assisi Hospice, Metta Welfare Association and Telok Kurau Primary School.
Catherine is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and graduated with an Honours degree in Economics and Statistics from the National University of Singapore. She joined CFS on 3 January 2012.
