Darrel leads grantmaking at CFS, working closely with donors, charities and communities to develop and implement impactful programmes that bring significant value to beneficiaries. He has more than 19 years of experience in strategy formulation, programme design and execution in the public, private and non-profit sectors. This includes five years with the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), where he led the development of innovative programmes such as Colabs, which brings together multi-sectoral stakeholders to address complex problems in a collaborative manner.
Darrel has also driven various key policies and programmes in the Singapore Government such as the Bridging Loan Programme (BLP) under the $5.8 billion Special Risk-sharing Initiative (SRI) and the $100 million Maritime Innovation and Technology (MINT) Fund, which invests in maritime research and development projects and tech start-ups. He was previously a member of the National Working Group for developing the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility standard.
Darrel graduated from the National University of Singapore with a major in Mechanical Engineering, and has completed an executive management programme, Financing the Entrepreneurial Business, from London Business School. He is also an accredited International Coaching Federation (ICF) Professional Certified Coach (PCC). Darrel joined CFS on 27 April 2021.
