SeniorsOK@Home

Targeting 500 vulnerable seniors during this period of social distancing, SeniorsOK@Home empowers community ambassadors on house visits with emergency funding. These seniors are provided with immediate aid, including food, necessities or medical supplies. The initiative also supports Community Healthcare partners for emergency funds and to enhance digital solutions for service delivery, such as video conferencing and online recreational activities, to minimise social isolation.

To date, 14 healthcare providers have tapped into the SSF to defray expenses incurred during the pandemic. For instance, to pay for the costs of disinfecting a premise if there is a confirmed infection, personal protective equipment, infection control items, as well as to support the staff, seniors and their family members affected by the incident.

CFS also supported the construction and distribution of over 300 infrared thermometers developed by GOVTECH to around 80 community healthcare organisations. The infrared thermometers help to reduce the manpower required for temperature taking at nursing homes, hospices and eldercare centers, where manpower was sorely lacking during the COVID19 period.
