Undeterred by the fact that our CSR activities were stranded due to Covid-19, the CSR Team turned to virtual bonding activities to raise donations in support of the Sayang Sayang Fund. We chose to support the Sayang Sayang as it is well-established and it serves the elderly – a vulnerable group which the team has a special burden for.
Our initiative named Passion for Compassion is a staff wellbeing programme coupled with a CSR element. We have organised activities ranging from tea/coffee with pets, cooking demonstrations, fun quizzes to a talent show. These activities break the everyday monotony of working from home and adds to our mental wellbeing. The best part of it is that we could use them as a platform to remind staff to look beyond self and give towards the wellbeing of the needy in our community.
Kudos to our unsung heroes behind the Sayang Sayang Fund who have been working relentlessly to care and protect the elderly and needy. Even though our company may not be battling the pandemic at the frontline, you have enabled us to contribute in our little ways. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.
“At OSRL, we believe in working harmoniously with the local communities where we operate, supporting initiatives that align with our culture and values to provide sustainable futures for everyone. Many in our society continue to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with disadvantaged individuals being more likely to be adversely impacted by the pandemic. By supporting the Sayang Sayang Fund we are pleased to be able to support our heroic health care workers, and initiatives, that have cared for many marginalised people through these difficult times. Our fundraising activities put smiles on our faces and we hope that the Sayang Sayang Fund will provide happiness to many more!’’ says Mr Darren Waterman, APAC Regional Director, Oil Spill Response Limited.
