Early Education
Children who skip preschool miss out on vital early literacy skills during crucial developmental milestones, which can affect self-confidence.
Housing
Owning a home remains out of reach for many lower-income families, which can lead to a sense of instability and insecurity.
Health & Well-being
Families juggling long work hours and tight budgets often struggle to prioritise nutrition, rest, and healthcare – all of which may take a toll on their well-being.

Lower-income families may face complex, interlocking issues that are entrenched across generations.
Unemployed and unable to find work.
Struggles with family finances, causing stress and anxiety.
Worries about family situation.
Sole breadwinner and a food delivery worker.
Works long hours to maximise earnings.
Health is deteriorating, and relationships with his wife and kids are strained.
Struggles with tension at home, where his parents argue frequently. He skips classes and gets into fights. After being retained in Secondary Two, Ryan finds it hard to stay motivated and confident.
Anna sometimes skips meals to stretch limited resources, making it harder to concentrate in class. Lives in a one-room flat with her family, where it might be difficult to find space to rest or study. Struggles to keep up with schoolwork and unable to afford tuition classes.

*From 1 January 2025, donations to national social and community programmes through the Collective for a Stronger Society will be matched by the Government under the SG Gives Matching Grant, with up to $250 million available.

- 1:1.5 matching for annual donations of $250,000+ with a minimum 3-year commitment.
